Reiraku Ch 4

We’re back with another chapter of Reiraku. I wanted to include a little treat for you Asano-sensei fans, and that’s an interview he did with the legendary Urasawa Naoki-sensei (Monster, 20th Century Boys). He shows his manga drawing techniques as well as shows off his work space. Having seen this video made reading Reiraku pretty interesting since there was similarities of the work office. Made us think maybe this work was probably about Asano-sensei himself? Who knows, but regardless this interview was quite enjoyable.

Anyways, we hope you enjoy our latest Reiraku release. Please let us know what you think in the comments below!

  1. I watched the documentary and I definitely think that Asano based Fukazawa off of him. In the very first chapter we see him having dyed blonde hair, how he used to have it and his work place with the two iMacs is too similar to be pure coincidence, too. Also in this chapter, we see Fukazawa’s manga Sayonara Sunset being finished in 13 volumes, exactly like Asano’s Oyasumi Punpun.
As always, thanks for bringing us this translation and I’m very excited for how this story will end. Knowing Inio Asano’s short story collections and shorter manga, they are all very melancholic and grim, but they tend to end in a bittersweet nature.
